30.01.2024- Lome, Togo -With the goal of providing adequate training to the ECOWAS Standby Force (ESF), the ECOWAS Peace and Security Architecture (EPSAO) project recently supported L’École du Service de Santé des Armées de Lomé (ESSAL) with lifesaving medical equipment.
A ‘Training Needs Assessments (TNA)’ workshop was first conducted in 2019 with the aim to identify the specific capacity-building needs of ECOWAS Training Centres of Excellence (TCEs) and Training Institutes (TIs).
Subsequently, on the 15th of December 2023 the EPSAO project handed over mannequins for use in simulation exercises and from the 23nd-25th January 2024, a workshop on Emergency First Aid in combat rescue missions was organised in ESSAL Lomé, Togo.
The EPSAO project – implemented by GIZ and co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) remains committed to enhancing the capacity of identified peace security operations stakeholders in the region.
