The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS Commission) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) launched a high-level consultation meeting on February 4, 2026, to discuss extending the Regional Integration Strategy Paper (RISP) for West Africa (2020-2027).
The three-day meeting at the ECOWAS Commission Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, brings together senior officials to shape the West Africa RISP's strategic direction.
AfDB's West Africa Director General, Mr. Lamin BARROW, emphasized the importance of extending the current RISP to 2027, ensuring continued partnership with ECOWAS
ECOWAS Commission President, H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu TOURAY, welcomed participants and thanked AfDB for supporting ECOWAS in areas like agriculture, infrastructure, trade, and capacity development
